Construction and Operation
Throughout construction and operation of the proposed solar park, BSR Energy is committed to ensuring that the impact to the local road network, and the local community is kept to a minimum. Construction is expected to take approximately 12 months with an average of 3 two-way HGV movements a day.
We’ve undertaken detailed transport surveys, including Automatic Traffic Counts, Manual Classified Counts, and swept path assessments. A full Construction Traffic Management Plan will be submitted with the planning application.
We are working closely with Kent County Council to minimise disruption and do not anticipate requiring road closures for the majority of works.
Some temporary closures may be needed during cable installation, but these will be kept to a minimum wherever possible. The site will be accessed via the A249, then from a new access point along Sheppey Way. Once operational, the site will encounter very low levels of traffic, this will be for maintenance reasons only.
